Using hypnotic language

Now the real work begins. This is the stage where you are able to change your behavior and even your beliefs to affect your life in the most positive way. In order to achieve this, it is important to know how to use hypnotic language effectively. Yes, even the sequence of words and the intonation used can maximize or completely negate the effect of the suggestions you wish to use.

In addition, syntax plays an important role to convey suggestions to your subconscious in such a way that they are accepted without resistance and incorporated into your life. A well structured script can mean the difference between a session that achieves the exact result you want or one that has absolutely no lasting effect.

During hypnosis, focus on lowering both the tempo and timbre of your voice. This assists with generating an overall sense of slowing down, unwinding and relaxing. Draw out the syllables of words like "deeper" slightly so that it sounds like "deeeeeper", dropping your voice on the second syllable. As strange as it may seem, this facilitates relaxation and encourages the mind to accept that is is now time to relax and focus inwards.

Use simple, positive statements

In order for suggestions to be effective, they need to be simple and positively phrased statements that are completely unambiguous. Remember, when we deal with the subconscious, we need to use the same kind of language we would use with a literate but rather obtuse child. The subconscious is unable to distinguish between positive and negative statements and single-mindedly focuses on the directive. So if you use a phrase like "I will not get angry when my boss keeps me late at the office", your subconscious will interpret this as "get angry when my boss keeps me late". This is clearly exactly the opposite effect of what we want to achieve.

Therefore it is best to use only positive, reinforcing statements such as "I am learning to react calmly and rationally when I face conflict" rather than "I do not get angry when someone deliberately confronts me". The first suggestion focuses the attention on the desired behavior rather than lingering on the negative opposite.
